Year Of The Rabbit

on Sunday, January 23, 2011. Filed under:

I`m not going to begin this post like my previous one, writing it after i ate takoyaki. But guess what, i`m writing it after eating a whole buffet of Japanese food!(well, technically 48 hours ago).

I know, i know.
It's been forever since i`ve posted! OK, to be exact, a month.
But i don't even think anybody reads my crappy posts anyway.
They're just for my uh...boredom(and because i just enjoy writing).

And this is totally random.
Photobucket
Julie's Chocolate Love Letters
Don't they look good? I know you want some.
Photo taken by yours truly. I took it for fun while experimenting a still life composition - that i had to draw - for my art class assignment.
OK, anyway . . .

Cover of the day:

I love their voices!(and Caitlin's glasses! It's so fetch).

Incidentally, i just recently found something very interesting.
I have no idea why i didn't like it before.
And it is none other than:

The Silk Sisters Trilogy: Pink Chameleon by Fiona Dunbar

Fiona is an ABSOLUTELY amazing author! I`m telling you, she writes books like fairytales(like a sisterhood fairytale, in the case for The Silk Sisters) Even if she's technically a children's author(but that doesn't mean a teen can't read it, right?)
And anyway, i bought it 4 years ago, and i was only ten years old then, so . . .
You get what i mean.

Based in the not too distant future, the "Silk Sisters" trilogy kicks off with the brilliant "Pink Chameleon". This is Rorie's, 12, and her younger sister, 7, Elsie's story. The sisters live happily with their slightly eccentric parents - both inventors - and their pet chameleon, Arthur Clarkson. One ordinary morning, the parents set off to a meeting to sell their latest, and most exciting invention, but, mysteriously, they never arrive at their destination. Rorie and Elsie are put in the guardianship of their dour uncle and aunt - both of whom run a repressed and imposing boarding school - Pokerbute Hall. When the sisters can take no more of their cruel uncle and aunt and the torturously boring school, they make a bid for freedom and run away - in search of their parents - and discover that their adventure has only just begun... This story has all the magic and adventure of the "Truth Cookie" trilogy, with Fiona's signature cinematic writing and real heroes and villains - and is sure to delight and enthral readers everywhere!

So it's that time of the year again(as of now, it's 12:30am in Singapore), and for all the Chinese, we'll be visiting our relatives from tomorrow onwards, among 15 days, to go around giving them blessings like Gong Xi Fa Cai(may you have good wealth) followed with a Shen Ti Jian Kang(wishing you good heath) or something else.

So i wish all of you a HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!(no matter whether you're celebrating it, or not). And for those who do celebrate it, hopefully we'll get more red packets than last year! - inserts evil smile -

According to the chinese zodiac, this year, is the year of the rabbit.

And in my case, i have a living and breathing rabbit at home(a giant one, in fact).

Ha! Guess who?

It's my mom - she's born under the rabbit zodiac sign, if you're wondering.
Oh, and i just remembered. I have another bunny.
Meet Squishie, my imaginery pink pixie bunny!

Keep reading great books for as long as you live!

Till' next time.

Love,

Chasina
